Mathematics is MY Camper Bianca´s passion

18-year-old Bianca Teodora Iordache from Romania has been interested about natural phenomena and functionality of technical apparatuses since she was a child. No wonder mathematics and physics are her passion. She is in the group of applied mathematics at MY Camp.

“I consider Youth Millenium Camp a wonderful opportunity to promote modern research fields and subjects and to encourage talents from all over the world,” Bianca says.

Bianca works hard to achieve her aim which is contributing to the evolution of science. When not exploring the wonders of science, Bianca likes to read classical novels and is fond of skating and traveling.

Bianca´s project for MY Camp is concerned with the principle of minimum of energy, which is one of the basic principles in the nature; for instance, the bees build their honeycombs as a hexagon and not as a square or a triangle.

“The idea for my project originates from my visit to the Nobel Museum, where I was deeply impressed by the major discoveries made by Onnes to liquefy helium. This is related to superconductivity theory, created and developed by Ginzburg, Landau and Abrikosov.”

Bianca appreciates being selected in MY Camp to the group of Applied Mathematics and thinks MY Camp is a great chance to enhance her scientific knowledge. Her plans concerning future in the field of science are clear.

“My future plan is to study Applied Mathematics and become more and more performant in order to be part of ‘The great Projects of Science’. The fact that I have been selected for MY Camp is perhaps the best thing that happened to me this year.”
